Create the WOW: Turn Customer Experience Into New Business

Do you ever hear your clients say wow that was amazing or do you hear them say wow that is awful. If it’s the former, are you tuning that into referrals, new business and profit.

John Jantsch from Ducttape Marketing says that the most effective method of referral is when a consumer voluntarily and with passion talks about your business.

It is the most natural thing to refer or recommend. I am sure that without too much thought you will be able to recall telling friends about a great show or restaurant, detailing the WOW experience.

Create the WOW: Turn Customer Experience Into New Business

These WOW experiences are quite often the catalyst behind an increase in business or the foundation to repeat business. Many of my clients know that they can create a substantial increase in revenue from existing consumers either from referrals, recommendations or repeat business.

To make sure this happens for your business here are 5 tips to help you on your journey.

  1. Assimilate – Think in depth about the WOW experiences you have, not only in your sector but overall. Bringing in ideas from other sectors can freshen up your business. What made the experience s WOW and can they be adapted to suit your business/industry?
  2. What are your competitors doing? Can you do it differently to create the WOW, Apple did. Look at what your industry does in different countries or regions, can this stimulate new ideas for creating a WOW.
  3. Understand your customers what they are buying and why. Can you provide additional items/services, methods of purchase and delivery and communication that will make that go WOW. Make the purchase and the solution you are providing as full and easy as possible.
  4. Avoid Demand Complacency – Businesses, services and products have a life cycle with peaks and troughs. Demand complacency can enter your experience usually toward the peak of the cycle. This can cause your standards to slip and potentially no longer delivering or developing your WOW experience. Driving consumers toward a regaling of a negative or poor experience and this can sometimes happen quicker than the positive one.
  5. Value your customer – the bottom line is, value your customer and ensure that they feel valued In a well communicated, sincere and delivered manner that your competitors do not do then you are well on your way to your own business WOW experience and the profits that reflect that.

Make sure your build you build an experience of your business that creates your currency of WOW.
